Take a liberal shooting...

Ok, so I don't subscribe to the liberal/conservative thing but you get the idea. Today I took my buddy, who hasn't shot in years, and his "liberal" g/f from Seattle down to the range and we shot some handguns. She wanted to go but was very fearful of the guns at first. After a few mags she started enjoying it though. I think this is one of the best things we can do. Make people less fearful of guns and allow them the opportunity to realize they are nothing more than tools.

I saw that show with Anthony Bourdain. He pretty much travels around and does whatever. Only watched it once. He seems very left in his views. Anyway, towards the end of the show he hung out with Ted Nugent on his Texas ranch. They ended up shooting guns, all sorts of guns. The one I remember the most was the M-60. By the time they were done shooting, you could see the fun Anthony was having. I think a lot of people's fear of guns comes from lack of knowledge + MSM fear mongering. When a person sees and feels the truth behind shooting a gun, their perception is changed forever and suddenly, guns aren't so bad.

agreed..... I am also taking a couple of "liberals" shooting soon. I sometimes umm and ahh about going to the range myself.....quite weird really because I always have a great time. Probably comes from still having to rent a gun. 6 months been waiting now.....

Still there is nothing more satisfying that seeing your rounds go exactly where you want them to go, round after round.

I don't know any liberals and have never met one. I only know people who
vote Democrat and somehow believe they will get results. Everyone I know
has limited money, some kind of budget, loves their kids, sends them to
private school.....you get the idea. People live conservatively even if they
vote liberal.

Taking a "liberal" to the gun range is a GREAT idea! I might try it.

All I could think about when I read the title to this thread was about the story about a Father going hunting with the old decrepit / sick / annoying dog and there being a terrible hunting "accident"

Taking someone shooting is usually the quickest way to change their mind about the "inherent evil" of firearms.

I had to really laugh at a coworker the other day. He describes himself as socialist, and the other day he said, "I'm even thinking I might have to get a gun." Then in a sort of confidential lowering of the voice he says he has a friend who can "hook him up." I raised my eyebrows and said, "Hook you up with what? What exactly were you planning to buy, Mr. I've Never Squeezed a Trigger in My Life?" Apparently, just a regular handgun, maybe a .38. Lol! I told him to just go on down to Walmart or the sporting goods store and hook himself up, and he was shocked that was all he had to do. Hasn't the guy ever seen a gun store? I did offer to take him shooting and talked to him about the steps of selecting and buying a gun.
